NetBSD Pushes Some Minor Improvements For The XGI X.Org Driver

If you're still relying upon a vintage XGI Volari graphics card or have a XGI integrated GPU on a server motherboard, thanks to the NetBSD folks there are 19 patches for the xf86-video-xgi open-source driver.

It's not too often we get to remember the days of XGI and their ambitious GPU plans, but Thomas Klausner of NetBSD is letting us think about the company once more with his dropping of 19 patches for the xf86-video-xgi driver.


The State of XGI Linux Display Drivers (2005)


He posted this patch series today that they've already been carrying in their NetBSD package for this XGI X.Org driver and are now working to upstream them. There's no new functionality provided by these patches but rather just fixes/clean-ups to the open-source code.
