NixOS 15.09 Released: Ships Updated Desktops, Linux 3.18 Kernel

NixOS, the "purely functional Linux distribution" built around the Nix package manager, is out with a new release.

NixOS 15.09 ships GNOME 3.16, Xfce 4.12, KDE Plasma 5.3.2 + KDE Frameworks 5.10, and Enlightenment E19 0.16.8.15 as desktop options. NixOS is powered by the Linux 3.18 kernel, GCC 4.9 compiler, and glibc 2.21 underneath. NixOS uses Nix 1.10, the latest version of their package manager.
