RADEON
Yesterday we received word from Novell's Matthias Hopf that the 2D portion of the RadeonHD driver will not be stable by the end of the year. After publishing that news article, we heard some new details from Luc Verhaegen, who is also part of Novell's X driver development team.

By the end of the year they expect most of the mode-setting to be functional with initial RandR 1.2 support. Luc Verhaegen had mentioned that this driver will soon grow with new functionality, including LVTMA support.

Luc had also reaffirmed that AMD's bottleneck for releasing more GPU documentation to the public comes down to time and the lack of manpower. However, he had stated that this will be resolved.
