While all of the KDE attention as of late has surrounding KDE 4, the K Desktop release team has put together a new KDE 3.5 release. The KDE 3.5 branch is now in a maintenance mode, but this new KDE 3.5.9 release brings a new package. KDE 3.5.9 adds enterprise-grade PIM (Personal Information Management) support to those who haven't yet moved to the KDE 4.0 series. Those using KDE-PIM, such as KMail and KOrganizer, have also been updated as a result. Other non-PIM releated improvements in KDE 3.5.9 include a favorite emails folder view inside KMail, easier scheduling in KOrganizer, and improvements to KAlarm and KAddressBook. Further adding to this release are also a number of bug-fixes. More information is available in the KDE press release.
