Samuel Pitoiset's patches take the Nouveau NVC0 Gallium3D driver's support up to OpenGL 4.2 for GeForce 400/500 "Fermi" graphics cards.

Pitoiset sent out a set of eight patches on Saturday morning for implementing ARB_shader_image_load_store and ARB_shader_image_size for Fermi hardware. There's already been those extensions for Kepler, but now they're coming for Fermi (but still are being worked on for Maxwell).

Fermi support continues to be improved upon by the open-source Nouveau driver developers. They still aren't ideal though on this open-source Linux driver stack though due to still lacking in the re-clocking department.

These Fermi patches may still land in time for the next Mesa release (11.3) due out in June, but it doesn't look like the Maxwell patches for being able to bring it up to OpenGL 4.2 will be done in time for the next release.

More details on these NVC0 Fermi GL4.2 patches via the Mesa-dev list.
