Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" Alpha 3 Released

Martin Pitt on behalf of the Ubuntu development community has announced the release of Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" Alpha 3. Ubuntu 10.10 continues to pull in new packages and features until its feature freeze beginning next week.

This next release of Ubuntu is based upon the just-released Linux 2.6.35 kernel, uses the latest GNOME 2.32 development packages, Kubuntu is using the latest KDE 4.5 release candidate, netbook installations use the new Unity desktop interface, and there are improvements to the Ubuntu Software Center.
