There's the release of Wine 1.3.10 on this Christmas Eve for those with extra time to test the newest Wine over the holidays. Wine 1.3.10 has a number of changes worth checking out.

Wine 1.3.10 changes include support for notification balloons in the system tray, the obsolete AudioIO sound driver has been dropped, there's more work on Wine ActiveX support, various MSI installer fixes, and the pre-loader is now used for 64-bit too. There's also translation updates and various bug-fixes.

The Wine 1.3.10 release announcement can be found at WineHQ.org. Just earlier this week we delivered benchmarks of Wine comparing its OpenGL gaming performance to that of native Linux and Microsoft Windows 7.
