With AMD's earlier announcement today of the Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobility parts, ATI has jumped to the table and provided a Radeon Xpress 1100. The ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 comes with such features as battery life improvements, faster graphics, better multimedia experience, support for Microsoft Windows Vista. The ATI RS485 (Xpress 1100) with SB460 Southbridge on a micro-ATX motherboard has already been announced by ECS with the RS485M-M part. This motherboard with the RS485 does boast support for AMD's Socket AM2 processors -- which will be announced shortly and covered Linux-wise here at Phoronix. The graphics with the Xpress 1100 are anticipated to be similar to the Radeon X300 IGP with up to 256MB of shared memory. ATI's official announcement is here.
