The GNOME 3.2 release is imminent, but there's one last step before going gold: testing out the release candidate. The release candidate of this desktop environment's 3.2 release is now available for everyone to test.

The GNOME 3.1.92 release announcement was made in this gnome-announce-list blog post.

See the other GNOME 3.2 articles on Phoronix for the features to expect from this six-month update to the GNOME desktop. There's a fair amount of polishing and other improvements since the GNOME 3.0 major release that introduced the GNOME Shell, Mutter, GTK+ 3.0, etc.

The official release of GNOME 3.2 is expected next week on the 28th of September.
