PHORONIX TEST SUITE
Waking up this morning I was pleasant surprised to see that OpenBenchmarking.org has now served over 21 million test profile and test suite downloads via the Phoronix Test Suite! As of writing there have been 21,011,121 downloads!

It was just over two months ago on 5 October when OpenBenchmarking.org crossed 20 million test/suite downloads! Not bad for open-source benchmarking in seeing over one million test profile and test suites downloaded for benchmarking via the Phoronix Test Suite in 65 days, or around 15,000 new tests/suites per day, which is around its pace for much of 2016.

As explained in previous articles, that's just the number of direct OpenBenchmarking.org test/suite downloads from the Phoronix Test Suite but not the absolute tally. That number doesn't include those who are running a Phoromatic server on their LAN to cache and distribute tests/suites off the Internet or those that are imaging their benchmark targets with the Phoronix Test Suite data pre-cached for further offline testing.

Crossing this threshold also comes just days after releasing Phoronix Test Suite 6.8 "Tana" while now Phoronix Test Suite 7.0 "Ringsaker" is entering development. I'll likely be committing the first bits of Phoronix Test Suite 7 code over the weekend.

As part of the Phoronix Test Suite 7.0 development cycle, I do hope to find the time to land some pretty big improvements to the usability of OpenBenchmarking.org. If you have any feedback, feature requests, or other comments to share for improving it or the Phoronix Test Suite, I'm always all ears.
