PHORONIX
For frequent Phoronix readers and open-source / Linux fans, here are a variety of updates to enhance your experience.

- OpenBenchmarking.org is now ad-free for everyone! Originally OpenBenchmarking.org was run without any advertisements, but in needing to offset server costs, standard ads have been present the past few years. However, in trying to enhance the user experience, clear up any confusion, improve page load times, and improve interactions with this largest database of open-source Linux benchmarking data, the site is once again ad-free.

- How's your site page load times and responsiveness been the past few weeks? For about the past two weeks we've been trying out a new CDN for speeding up page times on Phoronix.com. Initially the results were good, but lately, I haven't been too pleased with the results. Some users have also complained of connectivity issues with the new CDN when going through Tor, etc.

- In part due to the above item, I'm hoping to move at least part of the Phoronix infrastructure to some other servers, namely like OpenBenchmarking.org, LinuxBenchmarking.com, and Phoronix-Test-Suite.com to loosen the load at least for Phoronix.com / Phoronix.net and improving the overall experience. I'd hope to do that in the next few weeks. If there's any Phoronix readers working for any major dedicated server providers able to secure any discounted deals in exchange for some ads or what not, please contact me with offers!

- The new web server(s) will be important for pushing out the flood of routine Linux performance data being generated within the new benchmarking server farm. (Sadly no public hosting from here due to bandwidth constraints on a residential cable line.)

- Phoronix Test Suite 5.8 is still planned for release hopefully in May otherwise early June.
