PHORONIX
This month marks OpenBenchmarking.org being around for four years as the largest collection of public Linux benchmarking data from the community for facilitating open-source result comparisons, dynamic result analytics, and other capabilities in conjunction with the Phoronix Test Suite.

It was at the Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE) 2011 that OpenBenchmarking.org was officially with Phoronix Test Suite 3.0. For those not around back then or didn't have it on the radar then, see What OpenBenchmarking.org Is About & Why It Matters and Making More Informed Linux Hardware Choices.

OpenBenchmarking.org has seen hundreds of thousands of results uploaded over the past four years from over one hundred thousand different Linux/BSD/Solaris/OSX/Windows systems running the Phoronix Test Suite and metrics on over two million benchmark runs. There's mountains of data collected as it pertains to Linux hardware and performance and whether you're interest is as of a gamer/enthusiast or of an enterprise user. This collaborative cloud-based platform has become a critical component to the Phoronix Test Suite along with the closely-related Phoromatic.

Beyond the continued quarterly updates to the open-source Phoronix Test Suite automated benchmarking software, later in 2015 I hope to introduce a major revision to OpenBenchmarking.org. The next major version of OpenBenchmarking.org will feature significant speed improvements, restoration of all search capabilities, and a much-improved UI/workflow for users wishing to analyze and compare benchmark results. Your feedback too is, of course, welcome -- enterprise support, behind-the-firewall licensing, and other options are also available by contacting us.

While OpenBenchmarking.org is turning just four years old this month, Phoronix.com is going on eleven years old and the Phoronix Test Suite on seven years in 2015.
