The Start Of The New Phoromatic Server UI Lands
With the majority of the low, underlying changes for Phoronix Test Suite 6.0 "Hammerfest" complete, my latest focus has been on some improvements to the web-interface for Phoromatic.
For those out of the loop, Phoromatic is the remote management and test orchestration system for the Phoronix Test Suite. Phoromatic allows the automatic scheduling of tests, remote installation of new tests, and the management of multiple test systems over a LAN or WAN all through an intuitive, easy-to-use web interface. Tests can be scheduled to automatically run on a routine basis across multiple test systems. The test results are then available from this central, secure location.
The Phoromatic UI in the open-source code-base up to now has been rather basic, but with Phoronix Test Suite 6.0 there's going to be some big improvements.
Committed today to the Phoronix-Test-Suite GitHub repository is the very early work. The start of the responsive design with tablet/smartphone support is in place, the header bar has been completely redone, and there's various other changes.
The work in Git is just the start, but is already different than what's found in Phoronix Test Suite 5.x, so it's worth pointing out and soliciting feedback from Phoromatic users. Feel free to contact me with any feedback or requests for improving the web interface for the Phoromatic Server.
The enclosed screenshots barely cover the start of the changes, so feel free to fire it up from Git via either phoronix-test-suite start-phoromatic-server or installing the Phoronix Test Suite and enabling the phoromatic-server systemd service. Stay tuned for more Phoromatic, OpenBenchmarking.org, and Phoronix Test Suite improvements to land in the weeks ahead with 6.0-Hammerfest still set to be released before the end of the calendar year.
