A new release of the PlayOnLinux graphical front-end to Wine is now available.

Friday's PlayOnLinux 4.2.6 release is also adjoined by a matching PlayOnMac update. The PlayOnLinux/Mac 4.2.6 update mainly just brings a number of bug-fixes from fixing a critical error to adding a new POL function.

Ronin Dusette of PlayOnLinux wrote into Phoronix to share a bit more about the new release, "We have corrected almost a dozen bugs, including an error with our 'Install Components' that was throwing an SSL error when using wget...We have also deployed an official Wiki page that has a very detailed manual on writing scripts that interact with the POL/POM API, basic usage, links to advanced topics, and more. In the coming weeks it will grow to a very comprehensive guide to POL/POM and Wine, in general."

More details on this community-based, open-source alternative to CodeWeavers' CrossOver can be found via PlayOnLinux.com.
