A proposal is receiving positive response so far for upstreaming the Qt Mir Server support.

Paul Olav Tvete of The Qt Company, and QPA maintainer, is seeking to upstream the Qt Mir support from Canonical. Initially this new back-end is proposed to appear within Qt's playground repository. Paul is proposing a "qtmirserver" in the Qt Playground and in the future there may be a "QtMirExtras" or similar name for other Mir client code.

The proposal for QtMirServer can be found on the Qt development list and so far it's been backed by other Qt developers too.

Meanwhile, GTK+ already has Mir support in the mainline code-base and has so for a number of months.
