For The Holidays, Here's Another Special Deal For Supporting Linux Hardware Testing

Whether you are celebrating Christmas, another holiday, or no holiday at all this month, I've decided to run another compelling deal for Phoronix Premium in encouraging more users to try out our ad-free, single-page-article viewing experience while supporting the site and all of the Linux hardware testing operations.

Last month for "Black Friday" I ran a deal for Phoronix Premium for just $25 a year, or a savings of nearly 30% over the normal price. Many Phoronix readers took advantage of this holiday deal and subscribed, so I'm running it again for today through tomorrow (24 through 25 December, regardless of timezone, the sale has been extended, see below) in hopes of encouraging more Phoronix readers to try out our premium service while going to support the site.

The process is just like last month: To get Phoronix Premium for $25 a year, first sign-up for the Phoronix Forums (if not already a member). Normally from the forums you can manage your subscription, but with this being a special deal and the forum software not supporting "sales", I need to process the subscriptions manually. You can send your $25 USD via this PayPal link (or to Michael at phoronix.com manually) or alternatively send at least $25 USD in Bitcoin to this Bitcoin address. When sending money via PayPal, mention your forum username in the comment/message and I will get your year subscription activated ASAP. If paying via Bitcoin, you can email me at Michael at phoronix.com with your forum username. Once receiving the information, will get the subscriptions activated -- should be within few minutes to an hour, except when I'm sleeping. If contributing more than $25 USD, for every $25 contributed, I'll extend your subscription by another year. The other continuing offer is that for anyone with deeper pockets, $150 USD will get you a rate Phoronix Premium lifetime membership. The setup process remains the same as above.

Thanks to those thinking about taking advantage of this deal or have done so already this year. Your support means a lot and allows this work to continue. Sadly, less than 1% of readers subscribe to Phoronix Premium while a very sizable portion of readers utilize ad-block and other plug-ins, while Phoronix.com primarily relies upon advertisements to be sustainable. This year has been by far the hardest in the past 12 years to make ends meet for Phoronix.com due to the ad-blockers and other factors while premium memberships have not been able to make up the difference. Thus, these end-of-year holidays are just more work days for me. Hopefully any increase in premium members will at least make the wife more understanding of the relentless work particularly through the holidays; the closest to a holiday this year was when I was in the emergency room for the night.

Taking advantage of Phoronix Premium not only gets you access to the ad-free site and the viewing of multi-page articles on a single page, but it also gets you a direct line to me for requesting future Linux test articles with higher priority, compared to the non-premium members requesting new tests on a daily basis, or even when it comes to the occasional Linux technical question. Requests from Phoronix Premium members for new article requests are almost always honored. Other premium features are routinely explored.

Over these working holidays, I do have some interesting end-of-year articles planned. I still do have room for a few more tests/articles if any new premium members have any requests. So If you enjoy all of the work done on Phoronix over the past nearly 12 years, please consider joining Phoronix Premium. If money is tight, take advantage of the Christmas offer through the end of 25 December to enjoy all of our content for just $25 USD per year. That's just over $2 USD per month for enjoying all of the routinely 8~12+ articles per day written by your's truly while supporting the development of open-source benchmarking software, continued open-source news monitoring, and more. Of course, any contributions via PayPal or Bitcoin outside of that are also much appreciated.

Christmas Update: As there are many Phoronix readers continuing to take advantage of this deal, I've decided to honor new subscriptions at the $25 USD rate through the end of the year with being in the holiday spirit... As well as the $150 USD premium-for-life. All of the same details as above apply.
