"PulseAudio Is Still Awesome"
Paul Frields, the manager of Fedora Engineering and former Fedora Project Leader, has written a blog post today about how "PulseAudio is still awesome." While this common Linux sound server has a bit of a bad reputation, he wanted to share how great it's been doing and working out for his needs.
It's been a few years since PulseAudio has received much criticism with early issues worked around and the Linux sound drivers having improved a lot since PulseAudio began exposing plenty of driver problems. Paul attributes the negative comments these days to still being over drivers, bad hackery done in the distribution (he was pointing at Ubuntu Linux in this case), and people simply ranting / spreading FUD.
Paul feels the PulseAudio experience on Fedora Linux is in great shape and he just wished to relay his good feelings about this open-source sound server. You can read his post in full via his personal blog. How's PulseAudio working out on your systems these days? If you've run into any legitimate issues with it recently, be sure to share by commenting on this article in our forums.
