PyPy2.7 v5.6 Brings C API Compatibility Layer Improvements, Other Benefits

Today's PyPy2.7 v5.6 release as a Python interpreter alternative to CPython 2.7 while offering better performance has added some new functionality.

PyPy2.7 v5.6 makes use of the new upstream stdlib 2.7.12, improvements to the C API compatibility layer, better alternative architecture support (PPC and s390x), and a variety of other enhancements.

PyPy3.5 meanwhile continues advancing in-step for those interested in PyPy's alternative interpreter with Python 3.5 support.
