While Qt 5 has so many compelling advantages over Qt4, for those still running the older version of the Norwegian toolkit, version 4.8.7 of Qt4 is now available and it ships with tons of changes.

Qt 4.8.7 reportedly has over 150 improvements and bug-fixes as the latest stable point release in this older generation. Qt 4.8.7 has security updates, better OS X support, updated third-party libraries, etc.

Qt 4.8.7 is the last planned patch release in the Qt4 series with standard support ending in December 2015, after which The Qt Company's paid support will only be available. The Qt Company is encouraging all Qt 4 users to upgrade to Qt 5.
