Qualcomm announced yesterday the introduction of four new Snapdragon processors that the company says will "take 4G LTE and multimedia to new heights". These new processors are the Snapdragon 620, 618, 425, and 415.

These new Qualcomm mobile ARM processors appear fairly impressive and the Snapdragon 620 is packing ARM's new Cortex-A72 CPUs along with Qulacomm's next-generation Adreno graphics processor. The Snapdragon 618 is a hexa-core variant of the Snapdragon 620 but with otherwise the same features.

The Snapdragon 620 with octa-core 64-bit ARMv8 processor will feature clock speeds up to 1.8GHz while the hexa-core 618 will also run up to 1.8GHz. The Snapdragon 415 and 425 are octa-core 64-bit designs and will run up to 1.4GHz on the 415 and 1.7GHz on the 425 model. These lower-end Snapdragon parts will use the Adreno 405 GPU. Unfortunately there's no further details right now on the "next-gen Adreno GPU" powering the higher-end Snapdragon 600 series parts. A comparison of all the Snapdragon models can be found from this product page.

New devices powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 620, 618, 425, and 415 processors will begin to ship in the second half of 2015. You can learn more about the new processors from Qualcomm's statement.
