Landing tonight within Mesa Git master is ARB_gpu_shader5 support in the Radeon R600g driver.

The latest Mesa Git master code for the R600g driver, for pre-GCN AMD GPUs, is the GL_ARB_gpu_shader5 extension. Those not familiar with the significant features of ARB_gpu_shader5 can see the OpenGL.org registry.

For hitting OpenGL 4.0 compliance, this just leaves the ARB_tessellation_shader (OpenGL Tessellation Shaders) extension as the final extension left and also all the necessary OpenGL 4.1 changes are already cleared out. So once tessellation shaders are there, R600g will catch up to RadeonSI in supporting OpenGL 4.1. The Nouveau NVC0 driver is also already at OpenGL 4.1 compliance.

Hopefully R600g will catch up to OpenGL 4.1 for the next Mesa release due out at the end of the year. However, it's only for select R600g GPUs that will support all of GL4.
