Michel Dänzer has released the xf86-video-ati 7.6.0 DDX driver as a long overdue update to AMD's X.Org driver for pre-AMDGPU hardware.

With it being a while since the last xf86-video-ati DDX update, there's a lot to find with this stable release. The xf86-video-ati 7.6.0 release has DRI3 and Present extension support, optional TearFree and ShadowPrimary options for the xorg.conf to eliminate tearing and better 2D performance, DisplayPort 1.2 MST support, support for Xorg -background none, and the contents of newly allocated buffers are always initialized before scanning out to reduce artifacts.

There are nearly 100 changes with this big Radeon DDX driver update. More details via the mailing list announcement. The xf86-video-ati 7.6.1 release is also now the latest version due to a bug.
