The AMD RadeonSI Gallium3D driver for GCN GPUs now has support for OpenGL Compute Shaders within the latest Mesa code!

RadeonSI compute shader patches have been floating around the mailing list while this morning the work landed in Mesa Git for RadeonSI. This is now the second driver after Intel's i965 Mesa driver to support compute shaders as needed by the OpenGL 4.3 specification.

The code is in place including related to work to the Gallium3D Mesa state tracker.

ARB_compute_shader is the last extension needed for RadeonSI to advertise OpenGL 4.3 support. However, as of writing this article, RadeonSI doesn't appear to expose itself as OpenGL 4.3. At last check, it's being held up by some last bugs appearing to be related to Unreal Engine's OpenGL 4.3 mode.
