For those into database benchmarking, the SQLite and PostgreSQL test profiles were updated this week. A Redis benchmark was also added.

SQLite was updated against the latest upstream code.

The Pgbench test profile update was huge as that test profile hadn't been updated in some time. This PostgreSQL benchmark now targets the latest v9.4.3 release. It also advertises new test options as recommended by the Pgbench testing Wiki page to make it more useful. There's also a patch to modify it to let PostgreSQL run as optionally run as root when benchmarking.

On a related note to data benchmarking, a Redis test profile was added a few days ago too.

These new/updated test profiles (plus the new stress-ng benchmarking test) will begin appearing in the various performance trackers found on LinuxBenchmarking.com and in various Phoronix articles over the coming days.

If there's other software you'd like to see incorporated, read Reasons To Make A PTS/OB Test Profile For Your Software.
