The Staging Update For Linux 4.4: More Than 2,400 Patches
Greg Kroah-Hartman sent in his staging driver patches for the Linux 4.4 kernel on Wednesday.
He commented on the pull request, "Here's the big staging driver update for 4.4-rc1. If you were disappointed for 4.3-rc1 that we didn't contribute enough changesets, you should be happy with this pull request of over 2400 patches. But overall we removed more lines of code than we added, which is nice to see."
Among the staging updates are changes to the r8723au, sm750fb, Lustre, wilc1000, Comedi, vt6655, rtl8192e, and dozens of other drivers. The pull also brings a new visorhid driver to support the mouse and keyboard input of the Unisys application. There's also a new APDS9960 ALS + promixity driver, support for the PulsedLight LIDAR for the IIO Proximity driver, and other new support in the IIO subsystem.
