Valve last night released the SteamOS 2.83 Brewmaster Beta, which includes AMDGPU-PRO RC2 and the NVIDIA 367.27 driver.

The NVIDIA 367.27 driver update is nice but not particularly noteworthy as it's been public for a week weeks while the AMDGPU-PRO RC2 might be a bit more interesting this time.

Early testers of SteamOS have noted this new "RC2" AMDGPU-PRO driver is the 16.40 series... The current public driver is 16.20 and the driver expected to be released in about two hours will likely be AMDGPU-PRO 16.30. The AMDGPU-PRO driver I've been testing the past few days with the Radeon RX 480 via internal beta is the 16.30.3 build. So I'm quite excited to dig in and see what this 16.40 release is now about or whether it's just due to the wonky release stream versioning.
