In the next few days I will be buying at least two sub-$500 (USD) AMD/Intel laptops for Linux testing... what should I choose?

Thanks to an advertising agreement, in the next few days I've agreed to buy at least two x86 laptops for testing under Linux... The only requirements are they be at least 15-inch displays and available in the US at $500 USD or less.

For readers in the US, have you seen any good Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals? Any particular cheap laptops you're interested in for running Linux? The preferred retailers are, of course, Amazon and NewEgg.

If you have any particular sub-$500 laptops you're seeing tested under Linux, please let me know. Of course, priority will be given to Phoronix Premium subscribers in the spirit of the holidays in supporting our Linux news site. Stay tuned for the results within the next two weeks or so.
