SuperTuxKart 0.9 has been released! This is the very significant update to this open-source, penguin-themed racing game. SuperTuxKart 0.9 introduces its new engine that now requires OpenGL 3.1+ with providing significantly better graphics potential.

The new SuperTuxKart release went into beta last year and looks great. We've known the official release was close and now it's officially out this morning.

SuperTuxKart 0.9 features the new rendering engine that's fully shader-based, two completely new tracks, online log-in support, different Kart physics, an achievement system, and numerous other improvements. With now needing GL3.1+, SuperTuxKart developers recommend at least having an AMD Radeon HD 3650, Intel HD Graphics 3000 Sandy Bridge, or NVIDIA GeForce 8600 graphics for playing this game.
