TOP500 SC16 Super Computer List Published, Linux Still Dominating

With the SuperComputing '16 event taking place in Salt Lake City, the latest TOP500 list of super-computers has been published.

China's Sunway TaihuLight remains on top with a maximum of 93 PFLOPS followed by Tianhe-2/Milkyway-2 at 33 PFLOPS followed then by Titan. As usual, almost all of these TOP500 systems are powered by Linux, to no surprise at all. The number one system boasts 10,649,600 cores.

Leading the way as the world's most efficient super-computer is the NVIDIA DGX SATURNV system powered by Tesla P100 Pascal GPUs. NVIDIA has more details on the DGX SATURNV via this blog post.
