Tomb Raider 2013 Is Indeed Coming To Linux
For the past few weeks there have been rampant rumors about Tomb Raider 2013 being ported to Linux, largely based upon SteamDB updates indicating an in-progress Linux port of this popular game.
I held off on commenting on the rumors and did hear things from a few of my sources who wish to remain anonymous. However, I've now heard enough information from multiple informants that I feel comfortable saying that Tomb Raider (2013) is in fact coming to Linux and will be here in the next few weeks.
The game was released back in March of 2013 for other platforms as the latest installment of this action-adventure game series. The game was developed by Crystal Dynamics and powered by their "Foundation" engine.
This also looks to be the first game using AMD's TressFX library for more realistic hair/fur/grass rendering, so let's hope it will play nicely on AMD's Linux drivers and the other prominent graphics drivers at launch.
More details as they become available.
