Pardon for being a bit late with this news due to being busy testing Deus Ex on a wide range of GPUs, but Canonical this morning announced the release of Ubuntu Core 16.

Ubuntu Core 16 furthers Canonical's goal of this stack being the "foundation for secure IoT" with its regular updates, Snappy package management, and "provides an app store for every device."

Ubuntu Core 16 specifically offers improvements for security, management, operations, and upgradability. More details on Ubuntu Core 16 via insights.ubuntu.com.
