Vendetta: Curse of Raven's Cry Released With Linux Support
Vendetta: Curse of Raven's Cry was released today by TopWare on Steam. Alongside the OS X and Windows binaries is same-day Linux support.
Vendetta: Curse of Raven's Cry is a re-release of the Raven's Cry game that was released back in January, which was a heavily criticized game. Raven's Cry is powered by the Vision Engine and is a pirate-themed action-adventure, role-playing game.
The game is available via the Steam Store where it's currently on sale for $44.99 USD, a 10% savings. Unfortunately they haven't published the Linux system requirements for this new release nor the OpenGL requirements for knowing if the open-source graphics drivers will work for the game. Under Windows they recommend a GeForce GTX 670 or Radeon R9 series card while on OS X they recommend a GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon HD 6000 series GPU.
Thanks to a Phoronix reader already checking with the game developers, there is reportedly a benchmarking mode in this game and it can be controlled via the command-line. Thus likely this weekend I'll buy the game just for some Linux performance benchmarking on Phoronix and checking into the hardware requirements.
