UBUNTU
The Mir team at Canonical now has initial support for Vulkan with their next-generation display project.

While X.Org (with DRI3) and Wayland have experienced Vulkan support from day one with capable drivers, the Mir team this week got a Vulkan demo running for the first time. It took longer as they had to redeisng some of the Mir internal code and hooking in the windowing system integration (WSI) support.

Canonical originally said they would support Vulkan on Mir by Ubuntu 16.04 but with the Xenial Xerus being under a feature freeze, it's looking like this code won't land until development opens up for Ubuntu 16.10.

Until NVIDIA finishes up their Wayland/Mir support and AMD releases their Vulkan driver atop AMDGPU, for now this Mir Vulkan support is likely limited to just the Intel Anvil driver in Mesa.
