Wayland 1.9 Proposed For Release Next Month

A proposal is out to release Wayland 1.9 and the Weston 1.9 compositor before the end of September.

Bryce Harrington who has been managing the Wayland releases in Kristian Høgsberg's absence has laid out a proposal today for releasing Wayland/Weston 1.9 next month. He is proposing a 1.9 Alpha release to happen already on Friday, a 1.9 Beta that marks the feature freeze on 1 September, and to do the 1.9 RC1 on 15 September. The goal would be to release Wayland/Weston 1.9 officially on 22 September.
