Wayland / Weston 1.8 Release Candidate Arrives

The release candidate for the upcoming Wayland 1.8 is now available.

Out today is the first release candidates for 1.8 of Wayland and the reference Weston compositor, a.k.a. Wayland 1.7.92 and Weston 1.7.92.

This Weston 1.8 release candidate adds cut/copy/paste support to their simple editor and various bug-fixes. Weston 1.8 overall also features many improvements to the IVI Shell, EGL improvements, and other changes. Wayland 1.8 meanwhile adds a new scanner option, new header files, and other changes.

Wayland/Weston 1.8 RC2 is expected next Friday, 22 May, followed by the official 1.8.0 releases on 29 May.
