Wine 1.9.7 is now available as the latest bi-weekly development release of this program for running Windows programs on Linux and other operating systems.

Wine 1.9.7 continues the work on getting the WineD3D command stream support into mainline shape, more support for Shader Model 5 shaders, C++ exception handling on x86_64, support for Windows-style static import libraries, performance fixes in the XML writer, and a total of 42 known bug fixes.

It's great to see mainline Wine getting closer to their D3D command stream goals. The Shader Model 5 work is also important for DirectX 11.0 games.
