It's been since last November that X.Org Server 1.18 was released and while the project previously stuck to a six month release cadence, that didn't happen for xorg-server 1.19. Now, however, out of the blue Keith Packard has put together a proposal for quickly shipping it next month.

Adam Jackson of Red Hat had been managing X.Org Server releases while this weekend Keith Packard seems to have stepped back into that position and is looking to quickly get X.Org Server 1.19 released.

Under Keith's proposal, the development cycle would end next week on 10 September, the non-critical bug fixing window would end on 24 September, and X.org Server 1.19 would then ship around 22 October.

Keith laid out these plans via this mailing list post. The schedule was proposed quite quickly but he's open to feedback; the only feedback so far was from Hans de Goede hoping to still land a number of modesetting and PRIME patches this cycle, which will now need to be reviewed quickly to land in time.
