The X.Org Foundation has begun their search for a host willing to organize to the XDC 2017 conference in the Americas.

Daniel Vetter, X.Org board member and Intel driver developer, has issued the request for proposals in seeking to have an organizer host XDC 2017. Generally the event will be in North America, but South America is an option too. The board is hoping to have figured out a host for XDC 2017 by the XDC 2016 conference in September.

If you are interested in potentially hosting XDC 2017, visit this announcement to learn more about the requirements, etc. This is a great way for a non-developer to get involved and help out X.Org.

If anyone thinking about proposing needs some help in the RFP, here is what I submitted back in 2010 as my proposal for XDC Chicago that ended up happening for the XDC 2011 event.
