The X.Org Board of Directors has needed to delay the X.Org 2016 elections by another two weeks.

Usually by this time of the year the X.Org elections are over or tend to be close to getting wrapped up but it looks like this year it will stretch through the month of April.

The X.Org Board of Directors confirmed in a message today to its members, "We had a number of last-minute nominations and this did not give all nominees the chance to respond to the nominations. Hence, we are extending the nomination period for two weeks. All election dates thus move back by two weeks."

The list of candidates will now be published on 31 March followed by a candidate Q&A period. Now the actual elections are planned to start 13 April and run through 26 April, with the revised details being available from the X.Org Wiki.

Besides voting for those taking over four of the seats on the X.Org Board of Directors, they are also still deciding the issue on whether to join the SPI.
