X.Org & Mesa Start Thinking About GSoC 2015
X.Org and Mesa developers have begun thinking about interesting projects for student developers to get involved in for this year's Google Summer of Code while prospective students should also begin to think about getting involved with X.Org/Mesa development.
Alex Deucher and Martin Peres are working on this year's X.Org entry (including Wayland, Mesa, etc) for the 2015 Google Summer of Code. While there's been years where X.Org missed out, usually X.Org is always included as one of the accepted projects for GSoC.
Deucher sent out a note on Wednesday about requesting GSoC 2015 project ideas under the X.Org umbrella. The Summer of Code ideas are being collected via this X.Org Wiki page.
For those looking to work on something during a different time of the year, there's always the rarely-advertised X.Org EVoC -- Endless Vacation of Code, sponsored by the X.Org Foundation. The other new initiative is X.Org getting involved with the outreach women program, now known as Outreachy.
What do you hopes to get tackled this year for X.Org / Mesa / Wayland by students or other new contributors? Share your wishes via the forums.
