For those that haven't yet upgraded to Fedora 22, here's some benchmarks comparing the open-source Radeon graphics performance of Fedora 21 against the newly-released Fedora 22 Linux distribution update.

For this Radeon Fedora 21 vs. Fedora 22 comparison, an AMD Radeon R9 270X and AMD Radeon R9 290 were both tested on the same system. Fedora 21 out-of-the-box was tested followed by its updated form (going from Linux 3.17 to Linux 3.19 and from Mesa 10.3.3 to Mesa 10.4.7) followed by Fedora 22. Fedora 22 ships with the Linux 4.0 kernel and Mesa 10.5.4. All the other settings remained at their defaults and the hardware was consistent throughout testing.

The various OpenGL/graphics benchmarks were all run in a fully-automated and reproducible manner using the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software.
