Yesterday I ran some fresh Vulkan RADV vs. AMDGPU-PRO benchmarks using the freshest AMD Linux drivers available. For getting your benchmarking fix today are some OpenGL benchmarks of RadeonSI Gallium3D on Mesa 17.1-devel plus Linux 4.10 compared to AMDGPU-PRO 16.60.

This article provides a look at how the bleeding-edge OpenGL performance is of the RadeonSI Gallium3D driver under development for Mesa 17.1. AMDGPU-PRO 16.60 was benchmarked on the proprietary/hybrid driver side as the latest public release available via AMD.com.

All of the hardware and other software was maintained throughout this OpenGL benchmarking process. A Sapphire Radeon RX 470 was used for benchmarking these two Radeon Linux driver options. All of the OpenGL benchmarks were carried out in a fully-automated manner using the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software.
