This shouldn't come as much of a surprise as Fedora Linux normally ships with the very latest upstream toolchain components and with Fedora 28 it will be no different...

I hope that a distribution comes soon that has gcc configured with offloading out of the box, at least for HSA, since that's completely open. Cuda/nvptx devices are a viable target due to their market share, while Intel KNL stuff is HPC corner case.
