    Phoronix: KPTI Support For 64-bit ARM Getting Buttoned Up Ahead Of Linux 4.16

    Kernel Page Table Isolation (KPTI) landed at the start of the year for x86/x86_64 systems for fending off the much talked about CPU attacks while the AMD64 / 64-bit ARM code is still a work-in-progress but looks like it will be squared away for the upcoming Linux 4.16 kernel cycle...

    As GKH said, kernel 4.4 will probably never receive the ARM KPTI patches (too bad this is the extra LTS version with 6 years of support ).

      well, as far as android goes; https://github.com/aosp-mirror/kerne...roid-4.4-o-mr1

      might be trivial to apply over a non-android kernel, not sure...

      it's also been applied/backported to aosp's 3.18 kernel

        @Michael:
        Typpo? AMD64 should presumably be ARM64

            After reading the patches, trivial was not the word I had in mind

            Part of the problem is that these patches suppose that a gazillion other patches are already present in the tree - and that's not the case for the generic 4.4.y.
