At long last! A GUI for videocard options.

While I enjoy having the possibility to do things in the terminal, graphical interfaces make our lives easier.

My wish is "more rendering options to overwrite". Like forcing anistropic filtering, selecting different V-Sync modes, limit framerates, ...

I think Mesa only allows forcing MSAA right now.

Good, except it should better use Qt.

As soon as RADV got into a good shape, AMD released its own. So make this one cool, and AMD immediately gives you full Radeon Settings on Qt.

Only forcing AF is possible. Forcing MSAA was working badly and was removed a year or two ago.

Well, it's already being done in GTK, so, I don't think AMD is going to bother with Qt.

The current Radeon Software Settings on Windows is using Qt5, the UI that AMD previously talked of open-sourcing, I think that's what he's talking about.

A settings GUI... hmmm. I play quite some games, most of them on "ms gameloader 10" cause i'm often lazy outside of work. I open up that graphicscard windows settings GUI about once a year, mostly because of marketing fuzz when a big new driver is released. After a minute, its closed again, for beeing mostly useless. I really don't miss anything, even if it would be completely gone. I feel absolutely no need for that in linux.

For me this news is as relevant as any via/s3 news, and thats not very much....

Well, historically all AMD GUIs for Linux blob were in Qt There were GUIs in Qt2, Qt3, Qt4... while for AMDGPU-PRO they stopped doing GUI, i guess that is because people on Linux usually dunno what they want like switchings DEs, also X, Mir, XMir, Wayland, XWayland and so on

On Windows they also switched to Qt5 as mentioned
