Nice work. Mali GPUs are very common so this is high priority. The developer accepts donations via liberapay: https://liberapay.com/alyssa

Quite a few phones have basic functionality with their vendor-provided kernel fork, but the end goal is mainlining.
Of course, the end goal is to have a general purpose distribution on the phone, with all you expect in terms of telephony, but it also has some other advantages. Recently, opendata got Android P running mainline on a Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet with video acceleration trough freedreno.

Is there a place to see what is currently being worked on before it is in that table?

Well, there's the Matrix/IRC room which is quite active, some non-working devices that are being worked on can be seen below the table, you can also see the devices of some contributors in https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/T...as-what-device
And lastly there is the device wishlist.

But I encourage you to have a look at porting your own device if you are motivated enough
