    Rare instance of industry working together to make upstream possible. Orange Pi, Libre Computer, PINE64 each contributed $5K and a lot of community members contributed as well.

    BayLibre will also mainline the Amlogic GXL VPU driver on Libre Computer's behalf for 4.20 for Le Potato and La Frite as soon as the merge window is open. Mainline video decode via V4L is in better shape than desktop processors like Intel, AMD, and Nvidia.

    Collabora and LibreELEC contributed a lot of time and effort as well.

    Now if Rockchip will give their platform some mainline loving.

      With this kind of progress, I may seriously consider buying an Allwinner device.
