    Phoronix: V3D Driver Fixes Glaring Performance Bug, VC4 Working Towards Proper GPU Reset

    Eric Anholt of Broadcom's graphics driver team has provided another status update about their open-source Linux driver work in recent weeks on the VC4 driver stack mostly known for being the open-source 3D driver for the Raspberry Pi as well as the V3D driver for next-gen Broadcom VideoCore hardware...

    The blog seems quite unreadable. https://anholt.github.io/twivc4/2018/12/03/twiv/

    Apparently the Raspberry Pi 4 might have a lot better driver status than previous RPi models? Does this VC4/V3D driver already work for RPi3B+? Haven't figured out how to get it.

        Fantastic work! For those who want to know about hardware 3d basics, or even get into that field, I'm currently running a bare-metal, without OS direct register programming series using the S3/Virge as an 1st gen and easy example to get into: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgvBGXiw6LY

            Looks like a style and formatting problem with the blog entry. Manually overriding with
            Code:
            style="white-space: pre-line"
            helps quite a bit.

              At the bottom of the blog entry, there is a link to Github... There you'll find some normal human-browser-readable text...

                  I have zero faith in V3D being ready by March 2019 for a Raspberry Pi 4 release. I have little faith that it will be better than beta quality by March 2020 either...
