    PowerPC is dead to me.
    I would not start a new project where I had the chance to choose a CPU based on a PPC today.

    I've worked with quite a few lately.
    Among them are two T4240 implementations.
    The T4240 is NXPs _ultra high end_ PPC. 12 cores, dual threaded, 1.5GHz, triple channel DDR3 ECC.
    It's fabbed on 28nm planar with the e6500 cores introduced 2012.
    Since then, nothing has happened.
    Abysmal mem bandwidth for a triple channel DDR3, non-existent prefetch engine. Lousy cache bandwidth.
    All this could have been remedied, but there is absolutely no action in PowerPC development.
    I'd love a quad channel DDR4 ECC, prefetch engined 48 core @ 2.0GHz, 16nm FinFET T4242 or something...
    But that does not look like it's going to happen.

    Nah. ARM is the better choice today.
    NXPs ARM Layerscape QorIQ LX2160A looks rather smart. No experience on that one though.
