Phoronix: KDE Developers Begin Pushing Improvements For Plasma 5.18

With Plasma 5.17 releasing soon, developers have begun pushing changes targeted for Plasma 5.18. The KDE Plasma 5.18 release isn't set to arrive until next February but if any of the recent releases are an indication, it should be another exciting and solid release...

A global animation speed slider that can also be used for turning off all animations as well.
Thank you. I've never been a big fan of animated transitions. (Plus, I already see KWin and Plasma eating up enough CPU% on my system.)

...I wonder if that'll get plumbed into Firefox's support for the "I want reduced animation" accessibility function like it did on GNOME.

KSysGuard can now report hardware stats for NVIDIA GPUs.
      Great.

I wished they had a tab with hardware stats by default on Ksysguard. Every time I reinstall my OS, I need to build my own again. Is not that troublesome, but it would be nice if it is already there.

Also, make Ksysguard the default on the Esc+Ctrl shortcut.

It has only per process memory usage. For hardware monitoring it is still needed to use custom "remote" monitoring file.

You can export/import current tabs or just import Ksysguard (or whole KDE) config from back-ups (~/.local/share/ksysguard and ~/.config/ksysguardrc) .
